I've built my own computers since the BH6 celeron 300@450 days. Just got a new AI7 with a P4c @2.8, 2 sticks of Musklin PC3500 level II and a Radeon 9600XT. Get a repeating long beep, no video and the code 'AF' with both the green and red lights on. Have double checked ram, video card and cpu. Minimum config. ram,cpu,video and hard drive, no help from manual. TIA >> Stay informed about: Abit AI7 no boot

Further checking reveals that I can get past the 'AF' code and no beeps with only one stick of ram, but it now hangs at 05, which is the blank out screen and clear cmos error flag according to the manual. Have cleared cmos repeatedly but still no video output. help.... >> Stay informed about: Abit AI7 no boot

yup..cleared cmos..another thing that's different from my Th7..is that the read out shows '00' with power off..have to actually pull out the power plug to make it go out. Have another machine that uses the same kinda ram..will try my Muskin in it tomorrow..after that guess I'll have to RMA the M/B. Tom: Put in some Corsairs PC2700, booted right up. Started increasing voltage, at 2.8v. the Muskin Level ll booted. Seems to be a somewhat common problem, have read of a number of people that have RMA the AI7 for the 'AF' or some other post error, mostly with Level II ram but have found one post on other High Performance ram too.
